I found some really useful eye care tips. In fact I tried them too and really loved the effect. Very useful, pass it on and do try it yourself.
- Position monitors about 20 inches from the face and down about 20 degrees. Don’t have the computer right at eye level, horizontal. Have the screen down a little bit so you’re actually focusing down, because if you are trying to keep your eyes wide open while looking at the computer it’s not as good
- Blink often. It moistens your eyes. Put a sticky note on your computer screen to remind you to blink or try to blink after typing/reading two sentences in your computers screen.
- Put to use the famous but usually ignored 20-20-20 rule — every 20 minutes look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds
- Eye strain is often caused by excessively bright light, so darkening the room may help. Ambient lighting should be about half as bright as most offices. Avoid glare by turning down the blinds, using a flat screen monitor or by placing the monitor such that windows are on the side (not behind or before the monitor).
Here are some really easy exercises that you can do in less than 5 minutes and protect your eyes. I loved the palming and scanning exercises, I could feel the stress removed instantly. This site also has a video demonstration.
